C-160 amp meter swap to a voltage meter.

I want to swap out my amp meter on my '77 C-160 with a volt meter. I'm sure it's not as simply as disconnecting the two wires on the amp meter and reconnecting them to the volt meter. What do I need to do, diagrams (Richard) would be nice.

Join the 2 wires at the ammeter now and insulate well as they are still used to power the tractor.

Connect the (+) voltmeter lead to the wire feeding the (+) terminal of the ignition coil.

Ground the (-) voltmeter lead to the chassis.

This way the voltmeter is not powered when the key is off.

I used that way to connect my last electric fuel pump. Simple and out in the open.

No diagram needed, just do what Garry @gwest_ca said and you will be fine.
