520 swept axle spindle geometry and dimensions

Recommended Posts

@jeepdan,

I have a set of loose 520H spindles and can make a detail drawing for you if still needed. The drawing would be a LH shown, RH opposite drawing. Unfortunately, I am not be able to start the drawing until as least this weekend. Please advise if you are still in need.

Just to note here that he is looking for dimensions for the swept axle, 1" spindles.

Thanks very much Bill.

I think that I now have it all figured out. If I run into a question I will get in touch.

Thanks to everyone!

Dan

I’m right here fellas!  :greetings-waveyellow:

@jeepdan the tape is for alignment.  My eyecrometer took care of the rest.

I just had a third party accurately measure the tie rod hole distance for me.

Pull's eyecrometer was almost spot on:handgestures-thumbup:

This is what I have come up with so far.

Nice thing is that a person can replace the 1" kingpin in the future if needed to.

After boring the tapered holes for the tie rod studs, I welded the steering arms on.

Kind of close, but I was able to maintain 36.5" to the outside of the 4" wide wheels. Waiting on the 4.00-8 Deestones to arrive.
