Rolling tool cabinet

I said a while ago that I was going to make me a cabinet for my tools. Not all my tools of course, but the ones I seem to use the most. I've been working on this off and on for a while now, along with some other wood projects, trying to get the saw dust mess done all at once. AND A MESS IT IS ! There are some changes I would make if I were to do it again, bu it's good enough for who it's for. The object was o get as many tools in as small a space as practical. I think I have done that.

I forgot to mention, this cabinet weighs 111# empty. Any guesses on the loaded weight. For the record, I would have guessed more.

Good idea. It keeps all tools visible so there is no searching. Some woodworkers use tool cabinets like that but not on wheels, just hanging on wall over the bench. Quick tool identification and access is the key to efficiency.

I have a portable table saw with no means of dust collection. Not sure what brand it is but I have named it "The Mess Maker 2000"

What material did you use to make it?

1/2 plywood for the cabinet, 3/4 plywood for the bottom, LOTS of T-nuts, and sex screws, FRP facing on the front and back.This is 40# of steel on the underneath for ballast

That was going to be my next question if that was a ballast. So its 111Lbs including ballast?

Perfect shop project!  When it’s all closed up, how stable is it?  I think toggle lock to a wall for safe keeping?

The cabinet is 111 with the 40 # of steel empty. 149 # loaded. I would have thought more.

It is actually quite stable whether standing up or leaning back, but you want to have a clean floor.

It will be secured to the wall when not in use. I couldn't imagine what would happen if it fell over.
