xstang77   2 #1 Posted January 14, 2022 Can anyone tell me if first model year 520 (88') has gauge backlighting? I dont see any bulbs or lighting circuit but just seems odd for it not to when later models do and the tractor has headlights 🤔

lynnmor   6,705 #3 Posted January 14, 2022 It may have been 1990 that was first. Also, the 520H and 520HC were different.
cleat   4,895 #4 Posted January 14, 2022 The older machines (up to 91 or so) used metal Stewart Warner gauges that are rarely ever backlit. After that they went with Toro gauges that are all plastic and are backlit. However, Wheel horse for some reason unknown to me wired them in suck a way that they are lit whenever the machine is running. Problem with this is that most of them now have every bulb burned out. An LED upgrade would work well at this point.
