Hello everyone.. thought I would post this here aswell. It's with a heavy heart that i've decided to sell my mini International 1468.

This way i'm able to free up some much needed space and cash for my next project. It has gone to a good home and it will be taken care of and eventually finished pretty much like I would have.

Thanks for all the nice comments and help you've provided and maybe we'll talk again about my next project once I get started on that.

Amazing build, tragic ending.  - unless - did you convince the new owner to become a member here?

Thanks for being a good sport Kevin, and others!

The reason I have'nt been present on here much, or have'nt posted any updates is that between my new job and my gf moving her horse closer to our home I have little time left to work on the mini International.

That being said, the horse seems to be happy again and most of the work on the paddock is done for now so i'm hoping to free up some time to get this project rolling again.

I can assure you that the next update will actually be an update with actual progress rather than just teasers :hide:

Anyway, thanks again for your support!

Small update! Since I wasn't satisfied with how my homemade mufflers looked and sounded I was on the lookout for something else.

I debated making a new pair but decided against that because... I finally got my hands on two brand new IH Cub mufflers. They were about $60 a piece so I can't really complain about that. Oh, did I mention they look awesome ;)

20230420_193918.jpg.bac8c045af22d506be5550be95302bcd.jpg

Only thing I did'nt like is that they're a bit short.

So a trip to the car-accessories store was made to find a extention. Unfortunately without luck since this muffler is so small.

I looked online and stumbled upon these.. they are, believe it or not, vacuum cleaner tubes and they fit perfectly!

All I need to do now is mount them and make some miniature flappers.

Hopefully I can mount them coming weekend, fingers crossed!

Well almost one month later but today I finally freed up some time to get the muffler situation sorted out.

My version 1.0 mufflers were custom built by myself. There were a few things I did'nt like.

First they were too loud, they were crooked and third I just did'nt like the way they looked.

Soo out with the old..

Some cutting..

And welding:

Not my favorite subject, welding small diametre tubing but came out good enough.

Test fitting the IH cub muffler.

Looking good

Chrome stacks (a.k.a. vacuum cleaner extension tubes) added.

Drivers seat p.o.v.

So OFCOURSE I wanted to know what it sounds like now right!? So I hooked up the battery and tried to start it.. *click* nothing! Battery flat.. so that's charging overnight, might try again tomorrow.

Exhaust still needs some clamps here and there and I want to try and replicate some heatshields like on the original tractor.

Might even add some flappers, we'll see.

For now I'm glad I finally got something done one this machine. A lack of time and motivation have been a big issue in making progress on this project lately. Having tackled the difficult part on the exhaust helps with getting motivated to work on this project again.

The idea was to make the exhausts look better and a bit quieter..

What can I say.. atleast they look cool!

Hey guys, between working full time and all kinds of small and bigger jobs I finally got some time to work on the mini IH 1468.

I'll be attending the harvest show again this year and hoped to have finished the 1468 but that's not going to happen. There are a LOT of small things I still have finish up. One of those I tackled yesterday and installed a proper fuelvalve in the gastank.

The tractor looks a bit sad at the moment.

Some more detail work. Got a free afternoon and spent it grinding filing and priming the grille and upper grille for the mini IH 1468.

Some more sandblasting and primer.

Blasting. I obviously need some better dust extraction.

Blasted and degreased.

Zinc primer is on.

You and me both!

Some more primer and paint was sprayed tonight. Can't spray the entire tractor before the upcoming harvest-show the 26th but atleast I want to spray some of the smaller parts that don't need any more work (I hope).

Grille mesh and headlight bezels (is that what they're called?) were primed and painted medium gloss black.. could have been flat black but this is what I got.

Tomorrow (saturday) I'll be attending the annual harvest-show again with my mini International 1468.

Spent today sandblasting and painting some more parts aswell as mounting said parts. Note, the grey on the grille is just a zinc-spray base coat. My preffered supplier of paint is closed for the summer holidays so I could'nt get the actual right color for it.

The exhaust 'headers' are painted with a heat resistant grey which I like better than I expected. Most of the time I tend to paint exhausts black but I opted to go this route because the original tractors also seems to have grey instead of black exhausts.

May seem a bit too grey all together now but that will change once I get to laying down some red paint.

20230825_212650.jpg.e138535359eec9f4706c435570b4908c.jpg

Besides that I finally fixed the fuel system for good. I ditched the fancy gas shutoff because I could'nt get it to seal properly. It's an aftermarket part and seems to lack some crucial features. Lesson learned, simple is better.

Looks good..

20230823_194915.jpg.d78b466578d5674cda031cfdb0dfba73.jpg

But sadly doesn't work!

20230823_210114.jpg.ee135e7945bf59f92415d935aff6767d.jpg

Simple in-line version works perfectly. Might (have to) add a filter later on but that's an easy fix.

Sorry for the late notice, but if anyone is near Fredricktown, Missouri, the 17th annual Cubarama is being held this weekend, starting Thursday, the 27th,  (set up day), Friday September 28, and Saturday September 29.  It's held the last weekend of September each year in Fredricktown and is for the Farmball Cub and Cub Cadet, but basically anything IH related.

Fredricktown is about 80 to 90 miles south of St. Louis.
