"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity; it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness; it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair; we had everything before us, we had nothing before us; we were all going directly to Heaven, we were all going the other way."

I don't know specifically what you're talking about, but I completely understand. I mod a forum with membership numbers in the 40,000 range. It's not easy, and sometimes people like to make mods look like they don't know what they're talking about.

all I can say here is keep up the good work!

what is a moderator? that's the guy out there throwing cold patch in the potholes and tamping it down to keep the road we're traveling smoothed out. i personally have no idea what a moderator does until i read what they have to say when things go awry. they're the ones who try to use intelligence, and reason to diffuse conflict. what they do behind the scenes to help run a forum the size of this one, i can only imagine. not everyone is willing to take on the responsibility they have. not everyone can handle the responsibility they have. we only see the tip of the iceberg of what a moderator does here. if this doesn't answer what a moderator is to your satisfaction, then this might....

T-MO.... is a moderator. thanks for what you do T-Mo.

T-Mo:

You have taken the time to help me out with this computer thing on a couple of occasions. I just want you to know that the help didn't go without notice, or appreciation.

I hope you decide to stay on as a moderator.

Tom

Easy to point fingers and blame.. Not so easy to be the one to stand up and take action. No, you can't always make the right call 100% of the time, but if you make the best call you can at the time you have to make it, then sleep well at night. I think all the Mods do a great job, considering the traffic here. Please don't get discouraged, as it must be easy to do.

Exactly. The others have already said good things too ya already T-Mo

The only thing that I can add, would be to remember that you cannot please 100% of the people 100% of the time, but in the eyes of the members here, and myself included, ya do a danged fine job! Just sit back :thumbs2::thumbs: and enjoy

Lately we have a few issues and they have been addressed mainly by you members yourselves. You have all been wonderful and exceedingly patient as we grow. The admins and mods have made a few mistakes, but I think we had been at least trying to be fair and impartial. But, I have noticed there are a few members who still like to stir the pot. Some don

Terry great thread! & hope you stick around.

This place wouldn't be the same without you.

You are grandfathered in here at RS so to speak...even if you own yellow & green tractors too. :thumbs2:

Smitty thank you for your post to TMO's thread too.

It was a tuff day & that made me laugh.

Hang in there and keep up the good work. I think mods ought to respected, not condemned. If you challenge a mod you better be able to back it up. Or have a damn good reason for doing it.

One of my favorite quotes is as follows:

"F****'em if they can't take a joke!" ... :thumbs2:

I think all the Mods do a fantastic job...but I also think sometimes the forum moderates itself. It should never get nasty and it can be a fine line...people can take things defferent ways. I always learn something everytime I log on to this site. Keep up the good work T-Mo.

Smitty the lightbulb thing is a riot...I would be the guy that starts it all over after 6 months, probably because I had a question, I searched for it and couldn't find it, so I asked a question.....

thanks guys hang in there. :thumbs2:

I have not been a member all that long, but think this is a great site. I have seen some childish things written about this, that, and the other, but we all see that in everyday life. We are all human and not always right in how we conduct ourselves. T-Mo I don't know what made you write this thread but rest assured that I am behind you and all the others in charge of making this the site the great site that it is. We are all here for the love of our hobby and should keep it at that.

P.J.

I recently had an issue here that before I made a post, I consulted with one of the moderators. Once I was given the go ahead to make the post as it was thought by the both of us, although somewhat controversial, appropriate for the situation.

The moderating team listened to what I had to say, and took the action they felt appropriate. These guys, every one of them forge ahead valiantly keeping peace, and keeping a vigilant eye open to make sure this site is exactly what it is.

Thank you all for volunteering your time to do this. T-Mo, don't let the soured members here get the best of you. No matter how hard you try, you won't always please everyone. You as well as the rest of the mods in my opinion work with unbiased opinions and make decisions that are in the best interest of this group.

Thanks for your hard work.

Jack

This is just  one of the many weird link re-directs from the changeover from Forumer to our own hosting.  Many links from before Nov 2011 will take you to places that arent' right.  When we changed over, so topics were lost and the rest re-numbered themselves.  There's really no rhyme or reason to it... or any way to fix it.

T-Mo is still a moderator who checks in nearly daily, he just doesn't post much anymore.  He's also a moderator over at Weekend Freedom Machines and is pretty active over there.

As for the issue... I don't remember exactly... but I think it was about some grief a member (or members) had given him for doing his job of moderating.  Don't even remember who was involved... it was nearly four years ago.
