The choke plate is on the flat side of the shaft, and the detent ball is with it open (how it should be so it doesn’t accidentally close on you). pfrederi 18,660 #2 Posted November 29, 2021 A lot of the aftermarket (chicom) carbs have the choke set up for JD and other. that is opposite what WH's need. some provide an different choke shaft that you can put in... Only two things you can do... one is try and get the tab off and rotate it and stake it back on. Paul beat me to the second one. ebinmaine 72,598 #4 Posted November 29, 2021 @AHS I'm no fan of those Chinese carburetors but if you want to use it one option is to swap the choke shaft from the old carburetor. Only thing is, I've had three or four of these things go through my shop now and all of them were garbage. The one I bought for my own c-160 originally I had to clean the damn thing out three times. How much time did I waste taking that thing back off the tractor. Draining the fuel system. Priming it back up. After that episode and the others I'm done with replacement carbs. Probably if not maybe Taiwan.. in any event I got one for K341 from them still can't get it to idle or run well at other than full throttle...
