Mustang67ford 234 #1 Posted November 21, 2021 I see the there are many 42" RD models. My id tag is gone and its not the original deck to the tractor so can't go by that year. How can I identify my decks year / model?

roadapples 6,983 #6 Posted November 21, 2021 Don't know the number, but that's the good one with that heavy rod welded around the front for extra strength...

peter lena 9,271 #8 Posted November 21, 2021 @Mustang67ford have a similar deck , picked it up a few years ago 1st thing i did was to saturate that outer edge rod with oil , so it would constantly feed the related metal . then i lubriplated it , with chain and cable fluid and then open gear heavy spray . like this , this my set up , pete

Lee1977 7,206 #11 Posted November 23, 2021 (edited) The only thing you need the number for is the mower blades and belts I'm sure someone can help you with that. It has metric 17 mm spindles the bearing are number 6203. The pulleys and Idler will be the same as any 42" Metric WH deck. I was looking thru the blade selection pdf and noted many different 42" RD decks. I would assume something would have changed between models.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,475 #13 Posted November 23, 2021 Early bearings for decks with 3/4" blade hole is 6203-12 (12/16" = 3/4" ID) Late bearings for decks with 3/4"center hole is 6203-RS or 6203-2RS depending on the number of seals. (17mm ID is .669 ID) The OD of the 6203 is the same - 40mm Many years ago bearings used in North America were mostly inch sizes and in Europe they were metric. The metric won out so we ended up with many hybrid bearing sizes so older equipment with inch sized shafts could be maintained. Fafnir and New Departure are two very old companies that supplied North America.
