looking at a toro 416-H , good or bad?

Recommended Posts

stegs

So i came across yet another wheel horse that i think looks really nice

Its a toro branded 416-H. Has a onan engine. Tractor looks like its in great shape, always stored inside. Paint/decals appear to be extremely nice. Tractor comes with a 42" recycler rear discharge deck, chrome hub caps, wheel weights and a plow

Low hour machine with 359 original hours. I am unsure on year.

I like this machine, i think it will go nicely with my 417-a.

Ive been looking for a toro branded wheel horse for a while.

Are these 416H models pretty good? cant seem to find any bad reviews on them

What is something like this worth honestly. Guy is asking 1k for the package. Seems a bit high for me, but then again its looks like its never been used

With those hours (barely broken in) and implements, plus inside storage and condition the price in my area would be low. I'd expect asking $1200.

I love mine. It has about 1,300 hours on it now. I paid $750.00 for it 4 years ago without a deck (about 1,000hours on it at the time). I don't think you could go wrong at that price with attachments.

You better hurry along and acquire that machine.  The way @Pullstart is going, he'll have most of the Wheel Horses in Michigan!

yes im not sure. its still listed, been up for sale for a while. I figured if it looked good in the pics, it was worthing throwing out a number (since it has been listed for some time)

But he wont send me any pics, and its a bit of a drive so i dont want to waste my time or his.

Who knows. Maybe he will respond, maybe not.

Overall facebook marketplace has been very good. I prefer it over craigslist for sure. However, i messaged on a few items and both parties have not responded since 10/25 .....

oh well!

Sellers are sellers on both platforms. I've have non-responses and clunks on both as well as some very pleasant and successful transactions.

It does bug me that FB is harvesting all of your searching and buyer-seller interactions to build an even more thorough understanding of you that it can monetize. CL is still anonymous.

In reference to your question "are these 416H models pretty good?" The answer is yes, they are. I have a 1996 416-H that is my "daily driver". It's powerful, dependable, and has close to 1800 hrs on it.

Fond of mine!  But!  Onan parts are more difficult and pricey.  Hopefully you won't need any for hours to come.

Might want to run from that... just because of this issue...

Someone who won't send you the pictures you want... is not someone to buy from.

I have several Wheel Horses from pretty rough to pretty darned nice.  Nice ones are hard to come by and seldom cheaply.  I've driven all day to get something that needs a lot of work but I live in the middle of nowhere and there aren't many near me.  I'd consider more money for an exceptionally nice one AND I'd drive a ways to see it.  But it is VERY annoying to advertise on media that supports pics and then not include any.  But, I "see" it all the time!

Or my favorite- "pictures on request"...

Guess they don't want you scouring the internet to see where they got them from!

Good point!  I also buy and sell electronic equipment from time to time and several times I have found, using "Google Image Search" the EXACT same photo from another entirely different source.

HUGE RED FLAG!  STOP RIGHT THERE, BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER... !!!!
