Very informative post.
Good information to know relative to our rising gas prices.

Thank you.

Safe travels!

Belgium price for premium (which I use for the Horses since it has less ethanol here.)

€1.794/l or $9,45/gallon

On diesel taxs are 3/5 to 3/4 of the price

Yea, but we got oil Cas.   In fact we sell it to Portugal for a couple cigars/liter.   :confusion-confused:

Coming from a place where fuel is cheap and people love their horsepower constantly showing it off by revving their engines and literally racing around by peeling off a light and accelerating right to it putting their brakes on at the last seconds it is indeed a sobering experience watching these people. Cars are run mostly barely above idle changing gears as fast as possible and coasting most of the times. It also seems that cars are geared very differently always with fuel economy in mind. It is also obvious that our vehicles are getting bigger and bulkier SUVs and trucks making up the majority while here they are smaller and sleeker. At close to $10.00 per gallon perhaps we would also get a little smarter.

Haha, It is winter so I shut part of my grill off so my car is more aerodynamic and keeps the heat in the engine. -> uses less gas

removed the subwoofer, to use less gas, which I noticed.

We are shifting very fast, barely touching the gas, keeping our engines as low in rpm as possible. acceleration is very slow.

Most cars are 4 banger, but we are moving to 3cylinder cars.

My dad bought a V8, right before prices really climbed. He is spending 200$ a week on gas knowing here in Belgium we are a small country where 150miles brings you to the otherside of the country.

In the netherlands they choose their speedlimit, not for safety but for emissions, when you use the least amount of gas.

Yesterday While driving I passed a full size late model Dodge Ram. Whaaaaaat?? I guess that fellow is the economy stimulus around here . Immediately I started doing calculations in my head. Filling that one up totally 120 liters over $1000.00 US Dollars.

I'd be walking...

Gads!  Folks would be stealing vehicles to cut off the converters AND drain the gas!

How bad is fuel theft there?  I'd think there would be a black market!

more like 250$ but still that is insane. most of them drive very slow, never using all 8 cilinders. but believe it, we aren't at an all time high, that was in 2014.

A car here getting 35mpg is bad..

a renault clio diesel, a france car you see here a lot has 80mpg combined !!

Actually the converters are a problem here. They are cutting them off all over.

Great market for vehicle security sales and installation on one side and catalytic convertor/exhaust system sales/installation on the other.

Diesel now £1-50ltr. £1-60 on the motorways. Petrol about 0.02p less. I reckon there's a lot of profiteering going on.:rant2:

I fueled up today at € 1,759/l or $7,77/gallon

Filling up your Ram 1500 32 gallon fueltank would set you back $248,92
