Best Toolbox Organizers

Recommended Posts

ClassicTractorProfessor

About 2 months ago I bit the bullet and bought a 44" US General top and bottom chest, as well as the 14" side box to go along with it. This is my primary box at work, and I like for my box at work to be nice and organized where I can spend more time wrenching and less time digging for tools. I have tried just about every tool organizer out there, some work fairly well, while others are complete and total garbage. But I recently stumbled across a system while browsing YouTube that in my opinion is the greatest tool organization system I have ever tried. They're called Toolbox Widgets, and they are great for keeping everything organized, as well as saving precious drawer space for more tools, which is never a bad thing. I need to order a bunch more of the socket organizers to take the place of the big bulky peg trays from Harbor Freight that most of my sockets currently live on. If you are like me and enjoy working out of a clean well laid out box, then you might want to look into these. 2129883876_20211009_1445061.jpg.d82af92a26e022ae18e16038384081ab.jpg1218668580_20211009_1444561.jpg.ff0308cd04be035ca0199582ef3135f6.jpg44352067_20211009_1444411.jpg.95c11d0f4c4555fc08027eb81e831cb7.jpg1866251558_20211009_1444321.jpg.286fdea443cce251457298fb0d6f8eec.jpg

Feel free to show off your favorite tool organization setups, both from a store and homebrew ideas as well.

Organize?  Organized chaos seems to be my preference!  I’ve heard of those widgets Bryce, cool stuff!

Here’s a few toolbox pictures.  The big ones are too tall to reach the top, too messy to know what’s in it!  Drawers are open, ya know… to stay in to see the top!

I looked into that setup as well...and if we had a Matco dealer that serviced our shop I probably would have went that route. All we have in this area is a SnapOn truck, so choices are kinda limited unless you want to order online. Though sometimes I'm glad thats all we have, as much as I'd love to have a Mac and Matco truck as well...those weekly payments on one truck are bad enough, I can't imagine having three payments every week

I just bought these for my box. My dad gave me his old box full of tools, after he retired from being a mechanic. He brought his work box home, and gave me the one he had in his garage.

I already went through the wrenches, but have the daunting task of the sockets next. Hopefully these will help.

Edit: not my pics, just showing the organizers I bought. Still have to put them to use.

I sold 95% of what I had at the hospital as they were duplicates of what I had at home. Also sold all of my HVAC stuff outside of my automotive gauges. Still got a lot.
