Shuboxlover 480 #1 Posted September 9, 2021 Does anyone know if a bearing plate from a Kohler K321 (14 HP) will fit on a Kohler K301 (12 HP)? Thanks in advance Tyson
953 nut 59,921 #2 Posted September 9, 2021 (edited) Not all K301s and K 321s are created equal. Got to check the size of the flywheel, are both starter equipped or is the K301 S/.G equipped?. If they were both from they should work but I would check the Spec. #s against the Kohler parts manual first. squonk 43,799 #3 Posted September 9, 2021 I have a K341 and a K 321 plate here I can look at. Both off of non start gen models.
Shuboxlover 480 #4 Posted September 10, 2021 Thanks guys, both of these motors have a starter...NOT a starter generator. The 14hp is from a GT-14 and the 12HP is from a C-120. I'm hoping for a direct swap.
squonk 43,799 #5 Posted September 10, 2021 I'm pretty sure it will work.

pfrederi 18,666 #7 Posted September 10, 2021 I would check the spec# of the engines first. 12 hp used 4615603 235354 235998 4515602 14 hp use 4615603 and 4515602 are the differences are significant who knows..
squonk 43,799 #8 Posted September 10, 2021 (edited) These are the 2 I have. I think the one on the right was off of an older K301. Has the rear timing hole. The other is off of a K341. Has the 4 holes for the stator. Physically they are the same size. If you need either of these you can have them CHEEP! pfrederi 18,666 #9 Posted September 10, 2021 If the recipient engine is a breakerless looks like he would need the one on the left.
squonk 43,799 #10 Posted September 10, 2021 Plate on my rebuilt K321 pretty much identical to the one on the left.
pfrederi 18,666 #11 Posted September 10, 2021 Breakerless trigger needs the mounting points. (Would have to be drilled and tapped.)
Shuboxlover 480 #12 Posted September 10, 2021 Both of the engines (donor and recipient) have points. Thanks
