M12 coil

Ok, is it the same coil for M10, M12, M14 and M16? I’ve heard that only Kohler coils will fit the air plate that is on the coil. Has anyone else had this trouble? I have heard Kohler coils are expensive? It’s Kohler 47-584-02 I should be looking for?

It appears that a M10 - M16 use the same coil. Here is one source for OEM and aftermarket coils for you engine. OEM $118, aftermarket $75

If the spark plug wire is chewed off by mice it can be replaced, I've done it.

Replaced one on an M10 a few years back, used an aftermarket coil, had to file the notch in the plate bigger to get it to set flat. Still works great.

Checked my files, $26.12 in 2018.
