Decks?

I have 2 mower decks, and I'm afraid I don't know which tractors they came from.

 

This one measures 36" across, and is a read discharge. I think maybe it came from my 876. Does it look right for an 876?

 

 

The next one is also read discharge. It measures 45"wide. I don't know if it came from a C series or not. I think it would almost have to, because I have the 876, a 656, a C-125, C-141, and a C-175. Will this deck fit any C series? I can't find any numbers on either of them.  Thanks Greg

not sure about the first one Greg but the second one is a 42 in that fits a c series. I have that one and put it on a 1979 c-101 and a 1989 414-8. Bob

Yes that 1st deck should fit a short frame tractor.

Gents:

The first one is a 36 inch gear drive and as mentioned above fits Round Hoods (not Lawn Rangers) and other short frame tractors. I have pretty much the same deck on my 854.

I had the same deck (first one) on my 1962 552.

The first deck came on the later short frames but they will fit all the way up to the  61 701. The earlier decks had the 2 rods to adjust the belt tension.

Yup, I have one too - what I refer to as the "Suitcase" deck. Used it one season, did not really care for how it cut. Replaced it with a 32" round corner deck, then the 36" version.

The 42" RD deck will be one of these. Some of the differences in models is noted

Mower DNA

1976 model 65-42MR01 replaced by - (Has the flat spindle belt idler pulley mounted on a triangular plate.) - (Has multi-link hardware at the gauge wheel support)

1977 model 75-42MR01 - Both use blades with 5/8" x 3/4" double-D center hole unless the spindles have been upgraded. (Has the flat spindle belt idler pulley mounted on a triangular plate) - (Has multi-link hardware at the gauge wheel support)

1985 model 05-42MR03 - First year for bearings with 17mm ID unless older spindles were updated.

1986-1988 model 05-42MR04

1989-1990 model 15-42RC01

1990-1992 model 15-42RC02

1993-2012 model 78350

 

Note - 17mm is .669"
