B80 won’t turn over

Recommended Posts

Felix

Gone from bad to worse. I had one running tractor and one dead one. Now both are dead.
I tried to start the old c120 I’ve acquired and couldn’t get a spark. I fitted a new coil and still nothing. so I put the new coil on the running B80 I have to test it and it turned over a few times and then stopped. Now it won’t turn over at all. Could this be coincidence or have I blown something. Any ideas any body?

If that B-80 has an ammeter, check the connections there.

Coil would not prevent cranking.  Check all your connections may have yanked something loose during the swap.

No there’s no ammeter on it. It started to crank with the new coil then suddenly stopped and I’d now there’s nothing.
it’s never done this before. I was wondering if I got the wrong coil and it’s somehow blown something.

I don't have experience with the B-80 but may be a blown fuse if there is one on that model. Bob

The ignition circuit, and the starter circuit are completely separate. At least they are suppose to be. One has nothing to do with the other.

Hey Felix - your Wheel Horse is speaking to you. One wire fell off meaning the other wires are about to do so. Time to take a close look at the wiring on that old machine.
