Rod in Hedley BC has a junk store set up as a tourist attraction one room is set up with black light the sculptures are made from scrap metal. No admission to get in he charges to get out.

 Agreed it is and he does not part easily with anything, rather fight the suits at the municipal hall than comply with a clean up order.

 

The suits from  the insurance broker even tell these folks how many chickens their allowed to keep.

 

Fortunately it's not my problem, just sharing some pictures of things that caught my eye.

The rock a gift from Mother Nature, small sample broken off then ground into a powder then subjected to aqua regia in order to determine wither to move forward a small piece of copper was added to the leach.

 

Copper will only cement metals below itself in the electromotive series of metals which all happen to be precious with the exception of mercury.

 

In the beaker to the right a beautiful black precipitate, next is to test the orange liquor to see which metals are present. In the meantime I've returned home to get my ball mill to grind up the rock.

 

The mill will be coming with me on my return trip to BC. Then another trip to Vancouver Island to pick up a small jaw crusher that my buddy John gave me.

Previous owner brought most of the junk onto the property when the RM started on his case he buried most of everything under piles of sawdust from the local mill.

 

The items once buried are no longer under sawdust but the piles are everywhere, I suggested to Bob and Kate to inoculate the sawdust with mushroom mycelium to turn a profit while the mushrooms decompose the organic material.

The rock is mainly composed from Alluvial Gold Dust, gold ground so fine by the glacier it no longer reflects light as gold flakes would but appears as a brown powder when the rock is ground up in a mortar or ball mill for processing.

 

This type of gold is often over looked.

A friends Black Smith shop, cast iron forge with rheostat controlled fan, power hammer powered with repulsion induction, large selection of tongs and a 85 pound anvil I gave Pat years ago.
