RandyLittrell 3,894 #1 Posted June 17, 2021 I have one of those 15 gal sprayers and would like to do a boom for it. I know you can buy them, but they are pretty simple if you know what to buy. Hence my post, what to buy? Any recommendations on which spray nozzles to get? Thanks, Randy
oldlineman 1,513 #2 Posted June 17, 2021 I made one with 10 foot length of one inch ridged galv. pipe (you can get pipe at Lowes or plumbing supply place), nozzles, pipe clamps and rubber hose from Tractor Supply works great. Get some black tie wraps to secure hose to pipe. Bob

oldlineman 1,513 #4 Posted June 17, 2021 They come by color, different color different rate of spray. I believe I used yellow no real reason, just a guess. Your tractor speed will dictate the rate also. Bob
Beap52 1,330 #5 Posted June 19, 2021 I made a boom sprayer using a 15 gallon tank. Seems to work well. I carry it in the trailer and the boom attaches to the tail gate. I ran the hose from the pump to a valve that is attached to a board that I C-clamp to the fender of the 520. The valve is so I can turn on and off the sprayer as needed. I also have a quick disconnect so I can attach a wand for when I want to spray fence row or other more targeted areas. To calibrate speed and coverage, I practiced spraying water on the asphalt cul-de-sac in front of our property. Just be sure to thoroughly clean the pump when finished. Our local farm and home supply owner says that failure to clean the pump is a major reason folks have pump troubles.
Lee1977 7,131 #6 Posted June 23, 2021 (edited) I made my spray boom out of 3/4" square tubing the two outer sections are hinged in case you hit something. I had spray nozzles but changed ti drip splash type as you won't get as much on you using them. I bought most of the parts from TSC.
