B-82 PTO adjustment?

Recommended Posts

Robert B82

My B-82 has a vertical shaft drive with a clutching system to drive the deck.  I cannot seem to get the adjustment so that the blades will not loose momentum in the grass.  If i tighten up then the tractor cant start because it wont disengage. If i loosen off then when engaged it wont lock up.  Can anyone help?

What mower are you using?

What is the model number of the tractor?

Maybe your friction material is worn out or contaminated with grease or oil. Bob I don't recognize that model though, but Garry will figure it out.

If adjustment does not work the pto clutch friction material may be worn out from slipping.

The 3/8" clearance means the spring is collapsed 3/8" and should provide enough pressure to drive the mower.
