8ntruck 7,833 #3 Posted May 18, 2021 (edited) Didn't the Navy use opposed piston diesel engines in the WW2 submarines? I think Fairbanks Morse made them. Tried using them in diesel locomotives for a bit after the war ad well. Didn't work out so well for that application, though.
