oneroadkingman 53 #1 Posted May 11, 2021 hello, I have a 267h with a new starter, new solenoid and the only way it will start is if u take a screw driver and jump the two terminals on the solenoid. any ideas as to why its not working properly thanks in advance. Achto 29,229 #4 Posted May 12, 2021 (edited) Look over the diagram, make sure all of the safety switches are working properly and that the starter solenoid is grounded. Edited May 12, 2021 by Achto

As my uncle Mike use to say, " I dunt agrrrree wit wut yer sayin' but I'll defend til dett, your rrrrright to say it" If yous solenoid looks like this, I would not ground one of the terminals. pfrederi 18,558 #7 Posted May 12, 2021 There are many different solenoids in the world. Some have only one small terminal. they are grounded through the mounting bracket. The there are ones with 2 small terminals. If they are marked S and I then they are grounded through the mounting bracket. (The I is to bypass a ballast resister and increase voltage to the coil/points during starting mode.. if the second terminal isn't marked I then it is probably the ground as the mounting bracket is NOT grounded.
