Anyone know 12x7ja rim offset?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know the offset for rims marked 12x7ja?  A pair are for sale here at a decent price but I can't find anything on google that lists the offset.  Seller thinks it's a John Deere part number but I couldn't verify that.  Pics look like the offset is in the ballpark so was curious if anyone has a pair or knows the offset.  I'm wanting to run 23x9.5-12 tires and realized my 312-8 has the 12x5 rims.  So looking to find a pair of 12x7's.

I have a pair of 7s I can get an accurate measurement, but thinking they are around 1 1/2 or so.

1 3/8" back set and that would be the same for the 8 1/2" rims.

WH motly used 1-3/8" backset.  2-3/8" was widely used by JD and others....

Do you know for sure your 312 has 5 inch rims, pretty sure they didn't come with 5 inch.

What size tires are on the 'alleged' 5" rims?

Measuring them they look like they are 6 inches at their widest width.  Here is a pic of a number on the inside of the rim and the measurement is on the outside of the rim.  Tires on them are 22x7.5-12.  Is there a 6" wide rim?  And if so would that run 9.5" wide tires?

I think 6" is too narrow for a 9.5" tire.  You'll probably get 'bulging' tread, some call it 'ballooning'.

If your tires are the 22x7.5x12 then your rims a probably the 5 inch. I've just never seen a 312 with the 22x7.5x12 tires on it. I know the 310 and 308 came with the smaller tires but not the 312, but you have what you have. Yes you can put the 9.5 wides on the rim, but like Jeff said they will be ballooning, which mean your not getting anymore actual ground contact the with the 7.5's they just look cooler.

Thanks for the input, that's why I was thinking these 12x7ja's would fit the offset to work well and then I can mount the 9.5" wide tires on them.  I want to put some 6-12 AG tires on the 5 inch rims and have two rear sets.  Figured it'd just add to the versatility of the tractor.

Thanks for the help all.  I did get the rims and the offset measured out to about 1.5" so they should work out good.
