I've had excellent results with this stuff. Proper preparation is critical. There's other sealers out there but I can't vouch for them.  :)

I have used the KBS tank sealer kit on an aluminum WH tank with great success :handgestures-thumbupright:

My 854  I own has a tow piece gAS TANK.  My 701 and 702  both have one piecve gas tanks.   I have four or five RJ's with tanks and one RJ tank had a leak.

My 854 had a leak with winter that I ws confused about and finally found that the replacement sheet metal screws (a previous owner had repalced the gasket on the gas tank in this two piece tank) had not used a sealer on the sheet metal screws.  So they had vibrated loose.    I removed one side that was leasking and used Peretex Blue on the threads of each sheet metal screw to reseal and tighten up the bottom plate across the gasket.

On my RJ tank I used JB Weld on two pin holes.    I have used Red Kote and some other Harley tank sealer before but I wanted to try an outside sealer.

I used the JB Weld Steel Stik this guy used on an aluminum tank.   It worked fine.   Might look like someone stuck an old piece of chewing gum when you are done but it works fine.

If you do not like the look of the putty, it is sandable. You can then finish it to what makes you happy. I have used it several times.

I think I saw a tank repair kit on the POR 15 website, another to look into.

@Chrishar I’ve use the Steel stick putty mentioned above. One of the important things to do is degrease and sand/scratch up the area where the putty will go so it has something to anchor too. I’ve also used the Red e coat mentioned above with good results. ORelies sells it
