Changing 269H engine for 268H engine.

Hello All.

Fantastic forum - much appreciate the opportunity to share with wheel horse enthousiaste.

The engine on my 269H blew last season and I was about to obtain a 268H.

The engine on the 269H is a 20hp and the engine on the 268H is a 18hp.

Haven’t taken an engine out before, so all new to me. I have been able to disconnect the pulley bolt, but nothing is coming off. Either it’s rusted on, or I’m missing some lock nuts or another bolt to take off.

Do I try to remove the bolt I’ve circled. From some videos I’ve seen online, this just comes off after the main pulley bolt is removed.

I have the 3 arm puller ready, but before I pull thought I’d ask some experienced wheel horse friends.

Or would it just be easier to pull the guts of the engine out of one to the other (rebuild)?

thank you for the advice and help

Iain
