B&M Used Farm Tractor Parts

Recommended Posts

When I went to Taylor Tx 2 weeks ago to get my 1st Covid shot I made a stop at B&M Tractor Parts Yard.  I've know of them for 50 years, but have never made the out of the way 50 mile trip over there.  There now on the 3rd generation of family owners.

Today they mainly buy JD, International, some Ford.  but the warehouses are full of a little of everything from past years.

This Allis GT was the only GT.  He said he doesn't deal in GT parts, but picked it up for a customer in Europe.  He said he deals with a European firm and ships about 4 containers over there a year.

There are several large buildings with disassembled and cataloged parts.  I recently read an article in a farm magazine that said farmers are keeping or buying the 70-80's large tractors and rebuilding them.  The new ones cost too much and everything is electronic computerized such that only the dealers have the software to work on them.

I didn't get a picture, but in the shop they were parting out a 80's small Ford tractor transmission and rear end.  someone needed a few of the parts, then they will catalog and shelf the rest.

It was a fun to wander around the nice clean graveled yard and see all the skeletons.
