Not aware of this info in any manual. Perhaps the illustrated parts pages will help. You can enlarge these

If these do not help post the part number of the switch.

:confusion-questionmarks:      Are you talking about the Parking Brake Safety Switch on the plate under the shift lever?           :wwp:

Maybe it’s a reverse light switch?  I picked up a 1045 for @Rp.wh last year.  It had a switch on the left side of the frame by the “z” bend in the brake rod.  It actually had brake lights!

On my* 314 the sping tab goes toward the ebrake lever so when u push the ebrake forward it will engage the switch.

Is it a newer model with the neutral safety switch?  Pictures would help.

No I dnt but there are like 6 safty switches on mine and if any of them arnt working can give you problems. My dash also has a dummy check light list so tells me what safty Is working or not engaged.

The 1998 314-8 is the only model that is not in the Demystification Guide so no illustrations for each circuit. May try to make some.

Big change to what we are used to seeing.

Made up 4 pages than explains how it works.

Love them red tractors!  My 855 that I mow with, RJ58 for road cruises, 702 for ornament, and 657 for moving whatever!

Could you folks please post a pic or two of your coil mount bracket on a Kohler 8?
Mine is on a vertical Mount beside the engine and it's vibrates quite a lot. Not sure if that should bug me too much but I always thought coils and vibration were not friends.....
      Thanks
