Wheel horse 416-8

Recommended Posts

Zxvy16

I bought a 416-8 from a guy that I bought our house from. I like the tractor a lot runs and cuts great. Used it a lot last year. That thing will climb up a wall. I was curious what one like this would be worth? I’m not super versed on wheelhorses and was just curious.

Great looking 416-8, that is a great addition to your new house. Don't know what the market price is in Ohio but down here in NC you could expect to pay $ 800 or more for it.

I wonder what the original engine was.  Onan or Kohler?  The engine on it now is not the original. I got this 416-8 for $150.00 with a 42 inch deck and this one for $480.and no deck. Price depends on demand ,condition and location. The second one has a different hood  so it says 414 and the cat was free.2020_07_27_002.jpg.bdae22c8d9685fde1f0e48e1cc76c1ca.jpg2019_07_26_SPOT_2058.JPG.03ce9999fed77a7e22ec7be96e502bd8.JPG

It is the original engine the 414-8 1985 and 1986 model used a Kohler k341.

EDIT: srry never mind it's a 416

The drab color of the engine likely says it’s a factory replacement, at some point in it’s life. :handgestures-thumbupright:

@Addison_smith :text-welcomeconfetti:  The 600 range sounds about right here in Michigan.  I hope it’s just curiosity on value, because it’s worth way more than a big box store mower, all day long!

It has a k-series cover, but an m-series fan shroud.

Attached coil and starter location says it's a K series.  The color is Kohler green and not the usual WH  red or black.

That's Kohler Blue standard color. May need to count the head bolts to see if it is a 16 HP 341 if so it would have 10 head bolts.  If 9 head bolts it could be 14.12 or a 10 HP

Yeah I gotcha, I bought it from the guy for 100 bucks and I knew it was worth a lot more than that. So that’s why I was curious. It’s a great tractor

He originally wanted 200 and I was willing to give him that but when I came to get the keys he said ahh 100 bucks is fine so I wasn’t gonna argue haha

I had a 416-8 that I did a " refreshing" of last year. Kick my self for selling it. They are a beast of a tractor. Before and after pics. When it was finished I sold it for 850. Custom set of decals from Terry, new seat, repaired and repainted the deck. Gave the engine a tune up, replaced all fluids and ALOT of cleaning and waxing. A little elbow grease goes a long way.

I did the same to a C-161 Automatic last year as well. If I had to choose I like the 416-8 just a touch more the the C-161 Hydro.
