An FYI

Recommended Posts

Gregor

I got this email this morning. I had no idea what it meant for sure. I didn't know if it was a package I sent, or a package someone sent me. I took it to the post office to find out. It's a SCAM. I'm not sure just what they were looking for as they obviously already had my email address. I didn't click on any link. Maybe if I had, they would have asked for money to send the package on it's way.

Thanks for the FYI. That is a feeble attempt to somehow get you to do something. 1700800752216542 isn't even a USPS tracking number.

I get PayPal scam mail every day!

Your account has been suspended etc.

The emails look near perfect, but the address is always wrong, just a jumble of letters etc. Spam filter does not stop them.

There is quite an industry out there trying to con you.  Must be a lot of people who fall for it to make it profitable.

If only they would apply themselves to honest work they would earn plenty.

I do thoroughly enjoy watching the YouTube videos of the comedians who screw with scammers....

They didn't know you or your email address, just a random number/letter generator that churns out groups of letters and number that end in .com. If you had responded your inbox would probably be flooded with spam.

There's another scam on craigslist. If you put up an ad and they respond by

"I want this item but I don't check my email on craigslist". They leave you an email address and this is also a scam to get your email address.

Did you notice that the parcel #1700800752216542 is the same on both notices to two different people?
