Ed Kennell 42,008 #4 Posted February 7, 2021 I'm not so sure the sugar maples know if there is snow on the ground Trouty, But the trees do react to temperature, and conditions are perfect right now for good sugar water. 20- 25 lows at night and 35-40 highs afternoon. 1
troutbum70 858 #5 Posted February 7, 2021 Unfrozen ground a good blanket of snow assures they receive plenty of moisture at the roots. And for sure cold nights to freeze, warm days are great for good runs. Especially trees on the south side of the hill where it is warmer and more sun when out.
