ebinmaine 71,844 #1 Posted December 25, 2020 I'm adding some lights to Trina's 867 Pigpen. I did not disconnect ground because I figured working with the ignition switch OFF I wouldn't need to. I had the wire attached to the L terminal of the VR and to the dash rocker switch with the main feed coming off the switch and back out towards the front of the tractor. When I went to feed the switch into the metal dash plate I obviously touched a terminal to the dash because I got a short light show. WITH THE KEY OFF. Double checking the VR there is no voltage to the terminals. How'd I get a spark?
J854D 139 #2 Posted December 25, 2020 @ebinmaine, the L terminal is live. It is connected to the BAT terminal internally through the regulator. The BAT terminal is always live too. If there is no power at the regulator terminals now, perhaps a fuse was blown or a connection opened up when you had the short happen. Hope this helps. -JD- 2
