Decisions, Decisions which carb??

Redoing an old kohler k160 for a 57 bolens ride a matic.  The engine came with the lme carb on the right, I have this old carter too which fits the time era on the left.  Both will be rebuilt, any preferences or advantages?  Wow again! Carb kits have jumped in price!

WHX??

I always had a fondness for the older Carters with the round bowl if the correctness is not  an issue. Don't know why they just look cool. Madge @AMC RULESjust built one and polished the bowl to mirror which was cool.

I've got two of the older Carter bowls but sadly the carbs are toast .... wonder how the bowl would fit on a later style carb or forgive me... a Chinese knockoff?

I've got contact info Jabel for a Clinton parts guy that has/had rebuild kits for them. All of mine came off of  fifties RJ Clintons.

Rebuild both that way if one doesnt suit maybe the other one will :D.I find myself wanting to put every thing back as original as possible the older I get so my vote goes to the LME. Just guessing but figured parts for carter would be easier to find....YMMV...

Although the LME is correct the Carter is a superior carburetor that will not be as finicky with a little dirt in it. In my opinion the only superior part of the LME is the drain valve on it which of not only gas but more specifically any water which may accumulate on bottom along with the sediment it will push out. makes it very convenient to totally drain carb.

I say Carter just because its a little different and not as common. Pretty neat with that spherical bowl.
