Crmaverick 91 #1 Posted November 18, 2020 Is this type of play in a axle normal on these round hood tractors from 62-64? Mines a 1963 753, video link below showing axle play. If not is there a shim or fix that people do on them? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_w_Acfe1yC_20i6E41CrwcpFchi7oDgM/view?usp=drivesdk Thanks
pfrederi 18,714 #2 Posted November 18, 2020 She is worn. pull the pivot pin and see if it is worn. If the pin is worn you can make a new one from 3/4" stock. The hole in the axle may also be wallowed out. You can drill it out to 7/8" and press in a couple of sleeve bearing to tighten things up. 2 8
peter lena 9,309 #3 Posted November 18, 2020 those steel sleeves and a regular lubrication , will make it better than new , what a concept , pete
pfrederi 18,714 #4 Posted November 18, 2020 Actually i use these sleeves. They provide additional lube. Also If anything wears over time it will be them not the axle or the pivot pin and they are cheap and easy to replace. 1

Do you have any source where i can buy them. i have the same issue and thinkering about a brass or bronze adaptor ring. but this seems maybe the better solution as long as the Pin is good. Crmaverick 91 #6 Posted November 18, 2020 Looks like the way to go thanks for the help. Where did you order those sleeves?
Crmaverick 91 #7 Posted November 18, 2020 Also is it usually the pin surface that wears out first or the axle hole surface?
