701 resto 2

In my own defense,When I redone my 701 years ago I had no idea about all this support that is on this site and figured I would have a hard time finding any parts to help with the restoration of the 701. So I found a seat at tsc that has worked real well for years and made my own dash out of aluminum that has also worked for years.Having said all of that I now have been trying to round up a few parts to put my 701 back to original as possible.Got a square pan seat to replace the tsc seat that is on it now, thanks  to rjg854.Now Im trying to get hold of Glen Pettit for a repro dash and cant seem to get a hold of him.If anyone has his ear could you have him get in touch with me?Thanks

Borrowed this pic off of Jennifer's post hope she does'nt mind.Just to remind myself what a big dummy I am sometimes.I didn't realize this brace was an original piece and thought someone had added this fender brace to my 701 so I took it off and now I have lost /threw it away lol.I did find a 15-0-15 amp-meter today and got it ordered also found original dash, its not busted up but is kinda wavy might be able to put my aluminum dash behind it and make it work IDK.Hope I can come uo with one of Mr. Pettit's repro dashes though...Still need a starter button and key switch....

Got seat painted and installed today,Mr.Pettit had 2 dashes left and should have one on the the way:handgestures-thumbupleft:.Amp gauge came today looking foreword to installing dash and amp gauge.Still need to find starter push button and key switch.Think I will try and make another fender bracket but might be a little while before I get to it though....Sure would be nice to find headlights and stem mounts.I had one that I took off but its a no show now :eusa-think:.

Does anyone know where the solenoid was located on the 701's?When I rewired this tractor I just wired it up like another tractor I had at the time with just a key switch and no push button and no solenoid.I always felt like the switch alone was not really getting the juice to the starter like it should have, not to mention Ive went through a couple of switches in the last few years lol.I want to use an insulated base solenoid the one where you just ground the little terminal with the push button.Im thinking one off of a 9n/8n ford tractor are the same but will have to find out for sure.Maybe someone has a part number on that type solenoid they would share ?

I know it's been awhile, but in answer to this question, I'll post two pictures from my 701 before and after restoration.

On the support bracket behind the dash tower.

Another view after it was completed.
