Don't know if it is what you are talking about or not.  It rules where it grows with nothing else in it.

Yep, that's the stuff. It spreads by horizontal above-ground stolons and underground rhizomes and can double its coverage in a year. I think of it as northern kudzu.

Figured it had.  Good enough to repeat.

I've been looking at pics of the other end and I just can't find closeups.  What I see is a rigid support but of course the rear bearings have to handle some changes in angle but I don't see room for u-joints.  And I see lots of not very deep threads that seem to work so I'm less of a concerned.

From what I could see it looks like it had a self aligning bearing of sorts. After putting mine in full articulation and noticed there wasnt much change in my u joint angle, I have to wonder if they relied on chain twist on the original.

As good a thought as I can come up with.  Not much angle and the chain will of course flex some.

If need be, I can go to that idea fairly easy. As soon as the new sprockets come in there will be another test. Then go from there.

I was wondering if during one of your trial runs you may have had someone give you a little push or tug to help overcome the lack of power when first trying to move?

No, I was by myself. Not even a camera person for documentation. I ordered smaller drive sprockets. They should be here on Tuesday so I'm in hope's of another test run on Wednesday.

The sprockets are on. I'll finish up after plowing this 3in of slush off the driveway.

Let's see your view from your workplace "window". I know some are driving truck,or tractor, work in shops/offices or outdoors. What is it that surrounds you during your work day?

I've had some stuff laying around for a while now. I've had some ideas kicking around my head for a while as well.
Well they met each other a few days ago.
This is going to be a camp buggy of sorts.
Like any of my other builds I would appreciate any input anyone want to donate.

The base is an 1982-88 Yamaha G1 golf cart.

I started a thread a little while back "Something from Nothing". It has been upgraded to this thread because now I'm building something from something lol. I started with a new frame and strengthened the transaxle mount a bit.
