My only 2 thoughts are, maximum surface area to the ground,(minimize ground psi)

And ideal pitch for screw to balance ground torque against screw, vs forward momentum should be 45 degrees. A steeper pitch, while increasing forward thrust per rev, increases forces acting perpenndicular against the screw.

A lesser pitch looses forward momentum, but decreases that opposing torque.

I looked it over this morning it looks to be approx. 52 degree on the pitch. So I'm close to the 45 degree.

Another thing i found out when i searched a fitting hydraulic motor for my Sicklebar hedgecutter project,

the bigger the motor‘s the slower their output RPM.

when i do my equations, to estimate what i need on torque i use a torquewrend to get a feeling of what

torque i will need estimated to work that thing.

therefore i get a 2 cm thick piece of woof i try to cut.

FA2A90B5-E10C-40FB-86FD-60C72265816C.jpeg.f2594ed67170bc4bc59fd0d5b057dd97.jpeg

with the torquewrench on the sicklebar i try to find out, how much torque shall be enough to cut that.

after i got my value i double the result + adding 10%reserve for any unknown i may overseen.

On a sidenote:

That thing works like a charm and Hedgecutting is now a just act of Fun and Seattime instead before.

Because of the needed flow on the pump i would calculate both motors on max flow (peak)

i like the idea of the flow divider. But that also consumpts a bit of the given input force.

i found on my search, that there exists a dual steering valve for such purposes but i missed the link.

This valvesystem with integrated divider wasn‘t much more expensive than a normal dual valve.

will do a research,i hope i find the source again.

That's a nice looking hedge trimmer. I could have used something like that last fall.

Great,

It appears to be a cool ride on Snow.

Instead of sinking, you be able to drive over the snow, so in my conclusion that‘s better than a bad walk in deeper snow,

even you feel it‘s slow. Improve can be done, no doubt, but i like it.

Did you try to create any sort of counter balance to reduce vibration?

(I used 10mph in my spreadsheet but that may be too slow for some folks!)

Or too much for Oldskool's wallet LoL

Running the numbers like you do is great advantage compared to my WAG method.

Amazing I like the way it goes sideways.  Hope you don't suffer a break down or get stuck,  towing that home might need a  M 816 5 Ton Wrecker:P

I'm real happy with it all in all. I'm especially pleased with the articulation.

Full hydraulics will be in the future. I at least have to get 10mph out of it. I cant let a Craftsman mower get by me 🤣🤣

Sideways is the only way I can get it in and out of the garage over the cement. No doubt, I think it would take something like that  for recovery.

The 816 is fine but a 88 would be more impressive! My hat is off to you sir.

Let's see your view from your workplace "window". I know some are driving truck,or tractor, work in shops/offices or outdoors. What is it that surrounds you during your work day?

I've had some stuff laying around for a while now. I've had some ideas kicking around my head for a while as well.
Well they met each other a few days ago.
This is going to be a camp buggy of sorts.
Like any of my other builds I would appreciate any input anyone want to donate.

I started a thread a little while back "Something from Nothing". It has been upgraded to this thread because now I'm building something from something lol. I started with a new frame and strengthened the transaxle mount a bit.
