Never heard of the quarter in a clutch before.

Push start and engine shut down to stop. Maybe some Fred Flintstone braking along the ride too but only if you were a puss. LoL

I GOT IT!! Nothing like obsessing on something so bad you miss the obvious. I swapped out to a heavier cable with a heavier casing. Shorter even, and problem solved. Well that was alot of wasted time jeez.

Per previous discussions, looking at this picture, it seems 4 car tire dollies like these may be the ticket for moving it around the shop. Screws just set on the dollies... Something like this:

Just a thought...

Something like that in the garage would be just the ticket.

thankfully i have purchased them before i given my Rims to the Powdercoat Company.

So i was able to move my Horse arround even with no Rims and Tyres on the Rear.

i payed 60€ for all 4 Dollies.

best Invest ever.

I never knew "car skates" existed until recently. Got a similar set of 4 rated for 2,000 lb each for $50 off CL when I realized what a pain it would be to move inoperable tractors around! Was gonna try to adapt moving dollies but these are much better. Mine have steel wheels so they need a pretty smooth surface (concrete or asphalt) to roll on.

I love them, cuz they be maximum handy.

i had before the old Astra put on with 980Kilos on rough Concrete floor.

They don‘t be smoothly to push or pull, but i can handle it still by Myself with little more Force.

Tried them also with the 600 Kilo Iseki with the FEL.

as long as the Tyres fit into the Platform they seems to last.

i had my doubt before, because just 5mm Steel, but they be stiff enough.

Each is offered for 500Kilo what seems to work fine.

even they have Bearing wheels with Rubbertyres, they can be pulled or pushed with not too much Force.

on even floor they may be definitely easier, but i‘m fine when i can move them allone without Machines.

Steelwheels may be not much better on my Floor i think, it‘s very uneven so little force is needed,

but if the roll, they can be kept rolling easily. just the first push or pull is a little harder.

👍

Steel is amazingly strong stuff--especially in tension and shear.

The ole list is getting shorter and shorter. Any thoughts on paint for a fuel tank. Something that wont get washed off on the first spill.

Nope.  Your time was not wasted, just spent acquiring some knowledge, and supplying some wisdom to the rest of us. :D

Those lights work WAY better than I expected. Terrific stuff.

We have at least 12" of snow on the ground now and it's still coming' down at a good clip.  Hope you get a good layer for your test drive!

Thanks. We have some coming our way too. Mixed with sleet and rain.

I was on hold waiting for the PBGC customer service rep for about an hour this afternoon.  My click bait was Haulover Inlet videos.

The PO of my new to me Bolens painted the front axle and the carb drips a bit and is lifting the paint.

I'd want to gather more info from others but I'd think something like catalyzed acrylic or two part urethane.

I used the highly recommended Rustoleum Regal Red spray bombs for Putt Putt.  I’ve never cleared or protected it.  The first fuel spill was a scary one, but it quickly evaporated and all was well.  I think the difference in a saturation from a carb drip and the occasional bath are a bit different.  Mind you, when I rolled into PA for the 2018 Big Show, you could still smell fresh paint after 4-6 hours of heavy rainfall.

Let's see your view from your workplace "window". I know some are driving truck,or tractor, work in shops/offices or outdoors. What is it that surrounds you during your work day?

I've had some stuff laying around for a while now. I've had some ideas kicking around my head for a while as well.
Well they met each other a few days ago.
This is going to be a camp buggy of sorts.
Like any of my other builds I would appreciate any input anyone want to donate.

I started a thread a little while back "Something from Nothing". It has been upgraded to this thread because now I'm building something from something lol. I started with a new frame and strengthened the transaxle mount a bit.
