Help/Part # for Spark Plug - Coil Wires for K482S

Recommended Posts

Ironhorse1077

I'm in need of either some ideas to repair this connector or help finding part numbers to replace it/them.  I'm not sure if I can jus t replace the brass connectors (which are worn out) for the end of the wires that connect to the coil or if I need to get new wires entirely, boots, connectors and all. The ends that go the the spark plugs are fine, its just the opposite ends that are worn. :scratchead:

Yeah, I've been to visit my local store.   They were unable to find anything.  Said they need a part number,....  They didn't mention any other options as far as making new ones from individual parts.

I can give you the part numbers to make them your self or I can make them for you. Looks like someone tried to put an angle on the coil end. Can you get away with straight coil boots and ends?

They have them ... they just don't KNOW they have them.

If it isn't in the quickie computer lookup they're not going to find anything anymore...

@squonk has all the part numbers. He makes and sells plug wires as well.

If those plug wires are old enough to have worn out the end they really should not be put back on..

Unfortunately you found one that can't do a single thing if it doesn't show up on a computer screen. If you have an old school auto parts near you, shop there from now on.

I should've just sent you to Mike @squonk in the first place

I still go into the Napa I worked at and rattle off part #'s to them. Gets comical sometimes. :)

IRONHORSE1077, another thing you can add to your wire ends is DIELECTRIC GREASE  , to increase conductivity and let the rubber wire ends slide off the spark plug , the rubber tends to dry out and stick , jmoo, pete

Thanks to Squonk for providing efficient, reliable and economical service.  A new set of wires and some new points got her back in the game.
