edju54 5 #1 Posted August 13, 2020 (edited) i am thinking about selling my 1974 c160 with plow and cutting deck, runs but may need carb adjustment, i live in penna., would there be any interest in this if so i will post picschoose files... Click to choose files the engine will start to backfire and lose power when a heavy load is put on it, I cleaned the carb inside and out replaced gas filter and tried all kinds of adjustments to the carb but no luck.I have very limited mechanical ability with this so I am thinking of selling it. ebinmaine 71,614 #2 Posted August 13, 2020 Welcome to Redsquare. Given consideration that that's one of the most desirable models I would say they would be quite a bit of interest. Are there particular reasons that you would consider selling it? That's a tough tractor that, given the correct maintenance, would outwork most things you could purchase new today. Tecumseh OH160 Nothing wrong with that... That Tecumseh makes it a rare tractor. Similar engines to the ones used in Sears GTs. Decent enough. If the ignition goes south they can be retrofitted to a gm 4 pin module. Pound for pound, quite strong. Very difficult for me to put a value on that because I live so far away from you. Up here in the far Northeast antique garden tractors are at a premium right now. Yours appears to be in very very good condition judging by the pictures. Best bet is to confer with some people down closer to where you live and see what they say. According to the WH by years chart, The C-160 with the Tecumseh engine was only made in 1974. The type was C-162 The model number was 1-0385 engine Tecumseh HH160-170019 transmission wheel horse 8 speed 5091 The C-160 8 speed with a running Kohler K-341 is a very desirable tractor and with a good 48" SD deck and dozer blade would sell for $600 -$900 in my area. The poor running Tecumseh makes the value questionable. It would be less for a buyer looking for a worker.
