Newbe Lawn Ranger ID

Recommended Posts

wfopete

Hi folks I just registered. I have a old 1967(?) Model 105, S/N 117473 Lawn Ranger with:

Tecumseh engine: H60 751180 S/N 4293 05199

and a

Rear discharge mower: RM115 S/N 113404

The engine is locked up; I plan to restore the original engine if I can get parts but for now I thought a could temporary replace it with a Tecumseh OHH60 with a sleeve adapter.

Is there a better alternative to this engine?

Also this uses the gear drive deck, are any parts available for this deck still?

:omg:

I have an OHH60 that I use as a sort of standby engine in my smaller tractors until I can get the original restored. Its seen service in a 551 and a Lawn Ranger like yours, as well as a Mini Bike. Works great, I like it a lot. Plowed my garden with it in the 551. I just use 3/4" bore pulleys from Tractor supply. Parts for the original H60 can be found here, ebay, partstree, Farmex and many other places I'm sure others will tell you of.

I kinda figured it would. I mean if they put those Peerless transmission/transaxles behind the 12-16HP engines you see at the big chain stores today, the old cast iron Horse should handle it.

Yup, 105 dead give away for the year!
