Dies when hot.

Recommended Posts

I've got a Wheel Horse Raider 10 that runs great on full throttle, no petrol smells at all from exhaust, until 10-15 minute mark and nice and hot. Then starts to splutter, governor tries to compensate (you can see it rocking to and fro), runs really rich, pops and bang and dies. Has new carb, points, plug, condenser, coil, fuel filter. Not fuel starvation as filter bulb is full and keeps filling. Any ideas?

Open the Tank cap and verify if tankcap vent is not clogged.

If it stay‘s with open Cap, you find the problem

Does it have a condensor?  If so, replace it...about $5 item.

That's the little round-bottle like thingy on the side of the coil...usually silver color.

Thank you so much for the reply. I did try it with the fuel tank cap off and it made no difference

Thank you so much for the reply. I have changed the condensor... No difference I'm afraid.

How long does it have to sit before it will restart? If you have a spark plug tester hook it up and run with it.  When the engine start to stumble does it show a consistent strong spark>  Lets try to nail down as a fuel or spark issue
