Governor stop pin

Recommended Posts

JerryB

The governor stop pin on my 12 horse K301 must have loosened up and fell into the engine case. I was adjusting the carb and noticed it loose. I’m guessing it must have just happened. Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated

thank you in advance Jerry

Sorry to say the only way to put it back in place is to pull the engine and insert it. You can leave the oil pan on the frame and just get a new oil pan gasket.

Here are screen shots from the Kohler manual and a great photo from @prondzy's thread on engine rebuilding.
