wh500special 2,277 #1 Posted July 20, 2020 Briggs and Stratton filed for bankruptcy today. I guess they will soldier on - like their engines - but in a smaller capacity. https://www.jsonline.com/story/money/business/2020/07/20/what-you-need-know-briggs-stratton-filing-bankruptcy/5471472002/ Steve

tom2p 2,394 #4 Posted July 21, 2020 Executives and other key employees were given cash retention awards in June, totaling around $5 million. But of course - imagine the problems if they didn't throw $5 million at the 'executives and key employees' - the business might fail and go bankrupt !
953 nut 60,096 #5 Posted July 21, 2020 The "Golden Parachutes" these executives give themselves is no less of a crime than insider trading, but they get away with it.
bottjernat1 2,194 #6 Posted July 21, 2020 (edited) Well said to the both of you. i agree @tom2p and @ 953 nut . I work for a place that is doing that same thing. we are in bankruptcy I have worked here for almost 17 years and i love my job. But I miss when we were a mom and pop business they took better care of us the people stayed and worked hard we donated to the community all the time. That company was well liked here now since 2015 that has all changed. It is sad i use to see a sence of pride and now i dont. It sad our country is going to the pooper. lynnmor 7,828 #7 Posted July 21, 2020 I wonder how those that are owed millions feel about the crooks lining their pockets. I wonder how much the Steelworkers get paid that they can renegotiate their contract. Lots of blame to go around while China is filling the gaps.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,169 #8 Posted July 21, 2020 So if Briggs was to “disappear” would that would make Kohler the last remaining small engine manufacturer in the US?
