RTJ 5 #1 Posted June 26, 2020 Hello everyone. I have a 1974 D200 that needs mufflers. I found a muffler made by Nelson on eBay. It is model 10n90. They are about $55 shipped. They have 1" male npt at each end. Seems I could use a 1" coupling or screw them straight into the exhaust elbow. Is this too good to be true? It would be pretty easy to add a coupling, straight pipe and elbow on the bottom Please let me know what you think The eBay auction is 193528498809 Thanks! Enjoy the day with your wheelhouse! lynnmor 7,789 #2 Posted June 26, 2020 I don't think that is a 1" NPT, probably 3/4",
RTJ 5 #3 Posted June 26, 2020 Thanks for reply. I sent a message to the seller for some clarification RTJ

Pollack Pete 2,273 #6 Posted June 27, 2020 VERY nice D-200.Front end loader??? Backhoe??? I'm green with envy{ Not John Deere green }What brand is the loader and backhoe?Really nice.
RTJ 5 #8 Posted June 27, 2020 Thanks. The FEL is an Ark. The backhoe is a Brantly. I bought it a number of years ago as seen with a few boxes of parts and pieces, as well as the original gas tank and weight plates. I just need to get some mufflers. I really don't want to drop almost $600 for the OEMs....
dells68 7,499 #9 Posted June 27, 2020 They were perfect for my D160. I bought a set last winter from the same seller. I chose to weld tubing to them to avoid the heavy pipe couplings and keep a better look. They sound great too!
RTJ 5 #10 Posted June 27, 2020 That is awesome! Great job. The seller still hasn't replied with size confirmation. But from m your experience it seems like they will work. I am not familiar with these tractor supply at all, but it seems the 160 180 and 200 utilized the same mufflers originally. I plan to put elbows or plugs and drill holes similar to the OEM. Depends on my mood that day I guess....... Thanks for the photos and info!!
RTJ 5 #11 Posted June 27, 2020 Dells68, Did you insert the pipe into to muffler or butt it up before welding? What paint did you use? And is it holding up? Thanks RTJ

Thanks RTJ I simply but welded them together. I had some electrical tubing the perfect size. I’m tickled with how it turned out! As far as paint, I used Rustoleum semi gloss barbecue paint. So far, it’s holding up well and I e had good luck with it in the past!
