I picked up a complete Kohler k181 8 horse that was supposed to have been removed from a Wheel Horse. This engine is governor controlled with no provision for throttle. My question for you guys who have or had an 8 horse on a WH,is is this how a K on a GT is supposed to be set up?

Not something I've seen Jim.

Any pics of the linkage?

I have some. Throttle cable connects to circular disc on the stem of the governor shaft. There are several holes in that disc.

The governor arm must have been slipping on the shaft because they torqued the bolt so tight they bent the bolt. The arm is collapsed under the bolt so cut or file some clearance so it will tighten with less force.

Yup. That's what its supposed to look like. The throttle goes in the lever thing on the right of the disc like on my 867.
