Ok I'm going to ask this because I've done this. Is the battery reconnected? :helmet:

Also if this tractor has an ammeter, check it's connections

No power as in the starter isn't spinning, or no power as in nothing works (lights, etc).

What did you put in it for a starter? a brand new one? or a used one?

I assume everything worked prior to the starter change?

When you turn the key is your starter solenoid making a clicking sound?

Battery positive should be connected to one of the large terminals, there should be power to that terminal at all times. When you turn the key to the start position it will send power to one of the small terminals, this will energize a magnet to pull a switch closed (this will be the click that you should hear). When the switch closes it will send power to the other large terminal which should have a wire running to the only terminal on the starter.

If you are not getting power to the small terminal when you turn the key.

1. Make sure that the PTO is disengaged.

2. Seat switch is working or by passed.

3. Check for a clutch safety switch.

4. Battery + power is good at the key switch.

5. Blown fuse.

If you are getting power to the small terminal when you turn the key, but the starter is not engaging.

1. Check to make sure that the solenoid is grounded properly. ( loosen the mounting bolts & tighten them again)

2. If your hearing the click when you turn the key but no power is going to the starter. Then I would expect a bad solenoid.

You can check your starter function by clamping a jumper cable to the starter terminal and touch the other end of that cable to battery positive. Make sure that the tractor is in neutral if you do this. The starter should spin when you connect it to battery positive. If it does not spin, check to see that it is properly grounded. ( Loosen the starter mounting bolt and retighten them)

Let me know what you find out after checking the above lists.

@Achto

Just a few more edits to things from your post:

No click from the solenoid...my small enging man was nice nuff to stop thru few days ago doing pickups, n checked a few things with his meter...

Everything is hooked correctly according to him; power is and isnt going where it should with n without the key turned all the way to the right. He figures onea the safteys is 'off', n im thinking he may be right, cuz there was one wire under the seatpan that looked bypassed (goes straight to the tail light) but since the lights didnt work, well, id forgotten bout that, that i disconnected.

Kinda embarrassed to admit...but sometime today imma take it outside n check n see.

Was screwin round with a rattlecan onnit; gonna let it dry a bit...

If that doesnt do it, my dad, n now you, told me bout checking the starter with jumper cables, may try to get thatfar as well.

Thanks for everything, once again, Dan😊

Still nothing.

No click, nada, zip.

? Tho:

See in the pic, off the solenoid...the yellow terminal with no wire running off it...could that b something?

It was exactly like that when i got the tractor, tho....

User error=No Workey.

But i didnt fully start it yet cuz my battery was dead, or close. Threw it on the Tender, n will try for full start in the AM...
