Choremaster single wheel tractor

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any experience with the single wheel walkin tractor called Choremaster?  I saw one in a picture with a bunch of other engines and farm stuff for an auction and if they ever get back to auctions I was thinking about a visit to see if I could get it purchased.  Looks kind of usef I ll for small gardens.  Any thoughts?  Here is a drawing of one from an ad.

Yep I've got one, pretty well built little units. Parts can be a bit tricky to track down, or at least around here they are. Mine is about half torn down right now, I had our secretary at work order me a new tire for it, couldn't get the original size so she ordered me the closest she could get. Ended up being a bit too big so now I'm on the hunt for another tire

love the old iron , just about anything then was built to be indestructible , being a 46 model myself ,and surrounded with all that fresh military surplus , and the ware houses in NYC , loaded with like new , jeeps and dodge power wagons still in crates, that's when america , was a special place to grow up in , pete

My Dad had a one wheel tractor . Not sure if it was that brand , but it was a PITA to use , always something wrong with it . He finally dismantled it and sold for scrap when it ran into the oil tank and broke the line to the furnace could not get it out of gear. Man he was P**Sed .

I recently inherited a Choremaster tractor and attachments. It has been in the family for at least 70 years and has a Clinton engine..  If anyone knows where to find information about this garden tractor please let me know.  I am hoping to restore this machine but hesitate taking it apart until I know where I can find parts if necessary like gaskets etc. I want to paint it original colors if I can find sales pictures also.

I don't guess that Choremaster has much of a following but they are simple enough that you should be able to make your own gaskets and Clinton engine parts are out there. @clintonnut is a member here and the screen name says it all. Send him a PM and let him know your needs.

This article will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about them.

@ClassicTractorProfessor did you ever find a tire to work Bryce?  Is it small enough to use a larger wheel and weld angle iron across it for traction?
