echris 1,425 #1 Posted June 7, 2020 Can anyone tell me if this is the correct fuel line routing for a 1989 310-8? I thought I remember the line running outside the framerail below the blower housing, with an inline filter at the back side of the engine. I don't like the way that's routed. I could see the fuel getting chafed by the front of the Attach-a-matic bracket. What say you O guru's of

echris 1,425 #3 Posted June 8, 2020 Thanks, appreciate it. I ended up pulling the carb today. I was mowing and lost all power. Limped back to the garage at idle. I found the fuel line from pump to carb had neither hose clamp over the barbs. It looked like the fuel lines were replaced, but they never finished the job. When I pulled the fuel line from the carb, there was a ~1" string hanging down from the fuel inlet on the carb. WTF?!?!?!?!? It looks like it was once a round gasket, ~3/8" diameter. They kind you'd see on the float bowl retaining screw. What, pray tell, is it doing in my fuel inlet, after the filter and after the fuel pump. Complete carb teardown, found 2 smaller pieces of the gasket in the bowl, other than that, it was pretty clean. Go figure.
