WHITE SMOKE that doesn't stop!

Recommended Posts

Please Advise: My Kohler K181 on my C-81 has been running well. When I fired it up a couple days ago it started blowing white smoke from the exhaust. I thought it would go away after it warmed up but it doesn't! Throttle up and there's more smoke. I know the fuel is fine because it's new. But the smoke doesn't stop. Something is wrong - what do I do?

Sounds like you may have a plugged up crankcase vent or a broken piston ring. The vent plate is behind the carburetor, pull it off and clean it well and replace the filter. The best way to check the piston rings is with a leak-down test.

If this just started I would check the crank case oil and see if the fuel pump is leaking gas into the engine.
that’s an easy first start.

pull the stick and smell if for gas.
