Whguy46041 10 #1 Posted May 19, 2020 I’m currently restoring my 69 charger. I’m replacing the ignition switch and I have a couple of questions. I have the 8362 switch but it was wired with the positive battery cable on the Ammeter terminal, ground strap was wired to safety switch, Retcifier and magneto wire was wired correctly and the ignition wire was on the accessories. I ordered a switch from isavetractors.com because I was told I have a battery ignition. I’ve looked at the wiring schematic on here for the ignition switch but my question is where does the wire from the coil to the ignition switch actually go? Also I will lost a picture of the switch I ordered. I can’t really tell if it will work or not to be completely honest. Any help would be appreciated. I’m trying to confirm that as well. Edited May 19, 2020 by Whguy46041
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,491 #4 Posted May 20, 2020 Looks like the new switch is this one and it requires a starter solenoid. Do you have one?
953 nut 51,647 #5 Posted May 20, 2020 Using the 103 990 switch you will need a soleniod and can use this drawing as a reference.

I just looked one up but they were all universal. 14 minutes ago, 953 nut said: Using the 103 990 switch you will need a soleniod and can use this drawing as a reference. Where can I pick up a solenoid ? Is there a certain one I need to get?

Magneto system still has a coil wire (secondary cable) to spark plug, a magneto system will not have the external coil as seen in your pics.
