Waterdog16 12 #1 Posted May 13, 2020 A customer of mine was getting rid of his old tractor and wondered if I might be interested. turns out it is a one owner, garage kept d160 automatic with snow plow, tire chains and lawn sweeper, also 48 inch deck. 16 horse Kohler starts and runs perfectly , hears the catch. Won’t move or lift deck on its own power. When you open the hydro, it pushes forward and reverse no problem. Just will not move on it’s own. Just got it home so haven’t put any time into it yet. Coupler between engine and hydro pump looks good. Can’t be sure if pump is spinning, plan on starting there. Any known issues? Looking forward to the process of getting this beast moving 2

bc.gold 3,406 #7 Posted May 13, 2020 If the tractor won't lift an implement most likely a problem with the hydro charge pump. 1

PeacemakerJack 10,743 #10 Posted May 13, 2020 Welcome to THE Wheel Horse forum. Nice find on the clean looking D. I can’t wait to see what it takes to get it going. Sure looks clean overall. Sometimes the problems are big and other times the most simple fix gets the tractor back into service. Keep us posted👍🏻

That coupler has fooled many people, without a load it will appear to spin the shaft as it should but under a load it will not function properly. @pfrederi can probably add some better insight.
Waterdog16 12 #16 Posted May 13, 2020 That’s what I was thinking. This weekend I will pull the coupler and inspect. Thank you for all the welcomes and suggestions. Hope to get her moving, then time to knock the dust off and sort some minor things. I just went down a rabbit hole didn’t I?
