cafoose 3,456 #1 Posted May 12, 2020 I got some new tools from amazon over the past week or so and I got the stubborn crankshaft pulley off the GT-14. I started to mount the manual clutch and still have a few modifications to make. I used the bearing separator and puller combo and it worked great! All the pullers I got were OTC very good quality and good prices too! 8
Pullstart 67,060 #2 Posted May 12, 2020 It looks right at home! We’re you having issues with the electric clutch, or was this a preference thing?
oldlineman 1,541 #3 Posted May 12, 2020 Nice job where did you get the puller set?

Guest 88vic #5 Posted May 12, 2020 Honestly I'd do the same thing, just for the record.....

Preference, I don't like how the electric clutch grabs abruptly. I prefer the gradual engagement of a manual clutch. 3 hours ago, WildmanC120 said: Nice work. cafoose 3,456 #9 Posted May 13, 2020 The crankshaft pulley was a little smaller so I took @Ed Kennell's advice and bought a couple sizes of smaller belts at tractor supply. I found that one two inches shorter fit perfectly. It calls for an 85 inch 5/8 belt. I bought 82, 83, and 84 inch belts and tried the 83 inch first and it fit perfectly I kept all the paper sleeves clean and I'm returning the other two belts. 1
Racinbob 11,989 #10 Posted May 13, 2020 Nice! I agree 100% on preferring a manual PTO.
953 nut 60,359 #11 Posted May 13, 2020 I don't like the electric clutch either, but there are enough people out there looking for them that you could probably sell it for enough $$$ to pay for those nice pullers. 1

That thought has crossed my mind. I know it engages because I put power to it but that's all I know about it.
